1--Updated Resume (not required, but preferred)

3--16 measure song from a musical or disney show (30 seconds)
4-- 30-60 second monologue
Congratulations on being brave and auditioning for the 'Advanced Musical Theater (AMT)' musical production of Moana, jr.
Well over 100 kids will audition for this show but only 25-35 will make it into the cast this year, due to our venue. It is such a great opportunity to audition and attempt something new and hard! I'm excited for all of you.

WHEN ARE THE AUDITIONS?
June 21st (Monday)- 1:30-3:30
June 29th (Tuesday) - 1:30-3:30
July 8th Thursday) - 1:30-3:30
All auditions will take place in-person in the Black Box Theater, room 402
If you are unable to make in-person auditions, please email your video audition to Carly Hughes at
chughes@legacyprep.org. In-Person auditions are preferred.
WHAT DO I NEED FOR THE AUDITION?
You need to dress up (Sunday Best), a minus or karaoke track cued and ready with a dongle adapter if you have an iPhone 10 or later, your monologue, and you need patience!! The cast list will not be announced for a couple of weeks.
WHAT DO I DO FOR THE AUDITION
1--Please be prepared to sing a 30-60 second song from a broadway musical
Please use a karaoke or minus track.
DO NOT USE A VOCAL TRACK.
DO NOT SING ACAPELLA
DO NOT SING SOMETHING OFF OF THE RADIO
Slate before you sing.... this means you will say the following words before you begin to sing
My name is...
I will be in (say grade in fall)...
I will be singing (name of song) from (name of show)..

3--Resumes are not required this year, but preferred. If you have a resume, please bring it with you to the audition.
4--Headshots are required. Please look as close to your headshot as possible and bring these with you to your audition. Your headshot will not be returned to you. If you are sending a video audition, attach your headshot to the email

WHEN DOES AMT START?
The first day of school.
WHY DO YOU AUDITION FOR THE LEADING CHARACTERS SO EARLY?-
Due to scheduling requirements for 2021/2022 happening right now, we must audition for the leads and secondary leads for the musical to secure their spot in this class.
DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO AUDITION??
Yes, everyone auditions for AMT. Those who don't make it into AMT will be placed into the IMT class. You will have another opportunity to audition for leading characters in IMT. Anyone can sign up for IMT without an audition, however, if the class is full, AMT auditioners will take first priority.

The fees for this class are $225. If you feel this is a hardship, you may always apply for a fee waiver

Please contact the front office if you would like to choose the payment plan option. Cast members will not receive their scripts until this fee is paid in full.
The $225 fee includes but is not limited to their script, the majority of their costume, a spiritwear Tshirt and a love note for the program. In addition to the fees, you will also be required to pay for Jazz Shoes ($15-$30 on Amazon) and part of your costume (usually leggings/tights and a leo for the girls.....pants and a shirt for the boys, but this varies on the show). Tickets are $8/ea for the production of Moana (to be performed in February 2022) and $8 for the Musical Review (April 2022).There will be 4 tech rehearsals per show and 6-8 performances per show in which your child will need dinner. An extra lunch will be great on these days. We will have a digital copy of the performance available for $25-$35 should you wish to purchase one. (these optional fees may be subject to change)
One more very important thing regarding AMT. By signing up for this class you will agree to maintain a 2.75 GPA with NO F's and NO U's in any class (2 N's=1U), all four quarters. I pull grades frequently.
This and other important cast and parent involvement will be discussed further at a parent meeting. Look for that email with the date and time!
