Dear TMSA Parents and Guardians,
In partnership with Mako Medical, The Main Street Academy's free, voluntary and onsite COVID testing program for students and staff successfully launched on Monday, September 20, 2021. Over 85 TMSA students and staff were tested onsite for COVID during the program's first week of implementation. TMSA's Health and Safety Committee evaluated the program's first week of testing and made the following adjustments that are effective immediately:
- All TMSA students, staff and the immediate students' immediate families may participate in the school's onsite COVID testing program.
- Going forward, all persons are required to opt-in and provide student consent once for ongoing weekly testing. A new TMSA Opt-In and Consent Form is now available. Click here to electronically access, complete and submit the form. All persons who tested on Monday, September 20, 2021 and Wednesday, September 22, 2021 are required to complete and submit the new
- TMSA Opt-In and Consent Form. Please email Keith Nixon, TMSA's Social Worker, if you choose to opt-out of weekly COVID testing.
- Pre-registration is no longer required for weekly testing. However, completing and submitting the TMSA Opt-In and Consent Form is required for testing.
As a friendly reminder, only persons who test positive for COVID will only receive verbal notification (printed documentation isn't available) of their test results from Nurse Jackson. Persons who test negative for COVID will not receive notification from TMSA or Mako Medical.
COVID surveillance testing is crucial to combating the pandemic. Surveillance testing detects the presence of COVID 19 even in individuals who may be asymptomatic (showing no symptoms).
Post Fall Break, all TMSA students and staff are encouraged to participate in surveillance testing, by opting-in to TMSA's free, voluntary and onsite COVID testing program. The testing days post Fall Break are Monday, October 4, 2021 and Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
